Our Tours Are as Good as Gold
Gold panning lessons are included in each tour ticket price. Each visitor gets the chance to try their luck with an ore sample containing real placer gold — and yes, you keep what you find! Learn the techniques that prospectors use. Many folks are surprised to learn that a variety of gemstones can also be found while gold panning in Colorado. We also offer a gemstone panning option; ask your tour guide if you would rather give that a try. You may find Peridot, Topaz, Garnet, Quartz, Amethyst, Citrine, Agates or the state gemstone, Aquamarine. Keep everything you recover and our on-duty staff will help identify everything you’ve found!

Gold panning is available for guests who do not purchase a tour, and you can purchase extra miners bags if you want to test your new panning skills again.
