The long-awaited Mighty Argo Cable Car in Idaho Springs is scheduled to open in late 2025 or early 2026, meaning mountain visitors and explorers of The Argo Mill and Tunnel will be able to bring their bikes, their hiking boots, or simply just a camera and an adventurous spirit up the brand new gondola to the top of Virginia Canyon Mountain Park, the vast stretch of land just beyond the red façade of The Argo.
After breaking ground on July 25, 2024, the project has been full steam ahead. The Mighty Argo Cable Car is a scenic gondola for all levels of adventure, and the ride is open year-round. With only a 10-minute ride, the cable car reaches an elevation gain of 1,300 feet and provides access to more than 500 acres of hiking trails. Pair a tour of The Argo Mill and Tunnel with a ride up the gondola for a full day of fun.
For those looking for a new experience in Idaho Springs and the Rocky Mountains, you can ride up the cable car for spectacular scenic views with a bite to eat, a glass of wine, and other outdoor activities. For those seeking more of a workout or a thrill, the Might Argo Cable Car works in conjunction with Virginia Canyon Mountain Park and the new Trek Trails, which provide hiking trails and downhill biking trails.
